Technology is changing at a blazingly fast pace. The number of publications is expanding exponentially.

One thing I've noticed is that similar things seem to be reinvented every 20 years — once a new generation of scientists and engineers are working on a problem previously solved by their previous generation.

What's out of sight is literally out of mind as well.
